Welcome to the alpha please newsletter. I curate alpha for you. That’s it; that’s the newsletter.
As always, what I try to do is give you just enough information to get your spidey sense tingling, so you can then dive deeper with a foundation of intel at your disposal.
Maybe crypto gaming or NFTs aren’t your thing, but I ask you to suspend your disbelief for 10 minutes whilst you read this.
At worst it will be interesting and at best you spot a huge opportunity.

What is the Treeverse?
Treeverse is an open-world, fantasy and sci-fi based MMORPG with an action-packed MOBA-style (Multiplayer online battle arena) combat system; or it least this is what it will be once the game fully launches.
Slay beasts, forge mighty weapons, lure the biggest fish, form guilds, defeat dungeons and explore the deep lore. The living world of Treeverse awaits those bold enough to conquer it
Treeverse history
We can’t really get into Treeverse without introducing Loopify first.
Who is Loopify?
Loopify describes himself as an “investor in something called non-fungible tokens & JPEG enthusiast”.
He is the founder of The Treeverse & Interleave which is an NFT production team. As a collector Loopify is now a self-made millionaire thanks to NFTs.
Loopify rose to prominence with his NFT commentary on Crypto Twitter.
Some describe him as an influencer, as he has a following of over 163k, but to me he is clearly an entrepreneur. Loopify remains anonymous.
The Genesis of the Genesis
Over a year ago, Loopify announced the sale of some pixelated trees. This was way before the first wave of NFT hype had consumed the internet.
NFTrees was an avatar collectible project with a max supply of 420(!) and it’s made up of randomly composed pixel trees.
They are the precursor to Treeverse, and are essentially the ultimate relics to own.
At the time of writing I happened to spot this sale of an NFTree for $67,144. Not bad considering it was around $260 dollars to mint a year.
Just a casual 258x in a year. You may notice it was purchased by RookieXBT, more on him later…
The floor on this collection is now around 18.75 ETH.
This was a thread written at the time to describe the potential in crypto art. It’s funny that just a year later almost everyone in the crypto space would now say this is obvious, but Roger was truly well ahead of the times.
The Treeverse Plots
Some months later Loopify announced the Treeverse genesis NFTs, which were plots of land in a new Metaverse project.
On the August 1st 2022, 10,420 Founders’ Private Plot NFTs sold out in 1 hour.
The milestones on Treeverse’s list hit 100%, which meant they could go further than just building out a social MMO, and make a full-fledged PAE (play-and-earn) MMORPG.
Treeverse released a proof of concept last August. Users could join on the browser with their MetaMask account, speak with others, add friends, teleport to their plot that was customizable and display their NFTs on their wall.
The Timeless
Ok, so Treeverse already had two NFT collections NFTrees & Treeverse plots
Then they announced The Timeless.
Not only are they high-quality anime PFPs by the artist VIII, but they will act as metaverse avatars inside of Treeverse and be playable characters.
Treeverse raise at $25 million
This next announcement was a literal game changer.
From a pixelated tree NFT collection to a $25 million valuation in just over 7 months.
You’ve got to love web3.
The round was co-led by IDEO Ventures and Animoca Brands with other investors including SkyVision Capital, Stani Kulechov (AAVE founder) and several angel investors.
Animoca brands are one of the leading investment firms in blockchain based gaming. They have some hugely popular IP on their books.
There ends your Treeverse history lesson. You are kind of up to date, although it’s a big topic.
Why Am I Excited About the Treeverse?
Reason Number 1: Loopify
I’ve been following Loopify for while. Yes, he’s anonymous, but this dude is built different. I’ve seen nothing but hard work and humility. I will stake my own anonymous reputation (the irony) on saying Loopify is a gud guy.
Reason Number 2: The Art
I like the art.
I am an avid gamer and I know what quality looks like.

Reason Number 3: The Game
I feel confident having dug through hundreds of Loopify messages in the Treeverse discord that the game is going to deliver.
Plus Runescape was made in a year and that is the game of a generation.
I think the term and model of play-to-earn creates a game which ultimately isn’t fun to play. Games have to be fun and Treeverse are clearly focusing on making a great game first and foremost.
Play and earn is the crypto gaming model of the future imo.

You will also be able to earn NFTs within the game, which will be tradable on web3 marketplaces.
The game will first be released on Android and then ported over to IOS, PC and Mac soon after.
Mobile gaming has grown by a huge margin in recent years, and following the success of other blockchain games on Android it makes sense and is the right approach imo.

Reason Number 4: Tokenomics
Treeverse NFTs will give you access to earn $SEED and $ROOT.
We should get more details in the next three months.
Loopify is looking to further innovate when it comes to the tokenomics.
Reason Number 5: Endless Clouds Studio
Endless Clouds are the gaming studio making Treeverse.
They have produced two comprehensive monthly updates so far. You just get a feel that they are going about everything in the right way.
As I said, these monthly updates are telling.

Reason Number 6: Big Backers
Treeverse’s initial raise at a valuation of $25 million will very likely just be the first raise of many.
If they can show the early version of the game has potential then it is only a matter of time before more investment. And as partners go, Animoca are becoming a giant.
Ubisoft invested in Animoca, so you could argue Ubisoft have exposure to Treeverse.
You can see how Animoca also potentially opens up investment opportunities direct with Ubisoft.
CT Commentary
As I was writing this many Treeverse plots were bought off the market.
Many are bullish on Loopify and Treeverse in 2022.
The NFT gamers are definitely paying attention.
Many experienced NFT buyers believe in Loopify.
Timeless has its own potential to become huge IP.
Treeverse Esports in the future? Muddawg is the general manager of LA Thieves, a professional COD esports team.
Take some of the figures with a pinch of salt, but the mental model is interesting.
