Welcome to the Alpha newsletter. We curate alpha for you. That’s it; that’s the newsletter.
It’s going to be hard to do Treasure justice in one newsletter, but hopefully this gives you the fomo needed to dig deeper.
A Bit of Background to Treasure
Treasure launched as a free and fair derivative of the viral Loot project back in September 2021. The treasure cards were intended as the building blocks for a self-contained universe.
Much has happened since the inception of Treasure, most importantly it survived the perils of extremely low liquidity, which has claimed many a metaverse and NFT fair launch project.
What has developed since then is truly mind-blowing, exciting and everything that Web3 should be and promises to be.
What is Treasure and $MAGIC?
Treasure is a decentralised NFT ecosystem on Arbitrum that is built specifically for metaverse projects. Every project listed on Treasure’s marketplace utilizes MAGIC in their respective metaverses, with each community inventing its own lore and storytelling for this resource. MAGIC, the native token of Treasure, is the sole currency for marketplace transactions. In this way, MAGIC acts as the reserve currency for the entire web of metaverses connected under the Treasure umbrella.
Another analogy:
Treasure DAO is building a "decentralised Nintendo" for the metaverse, consisting of the "console" (and its building blocks), their own play-to-earn games, games from other developers, a launchpad for those games, and a marketplace where you can trade the assets of those games as NFT.
$MAGIC is the currency that ties everything together. All games being built utilise $MAGIC and the NFTs can only be bought with $MAGIC.
In order to understand Treasure and its ecosystem you are going to have to read a fair amount, but these are two great threads to get you started:
On Liquidity
The team have made the liquidity of $MAGIC one of the core objectives of the ecosystem.
In their words:
Framing liquidity as the game’s core objective would take the form of metaphor. Three such metaphors come to mind: liquidity as weather, liquidity as time, and liquidity as a measure of spatial reach.
Treasure Dao explain their liquidity metaphors here
The Games
Two games are live and many more will be on the way soon. ALL of the games were free mints. Yes, free mints.
Legions are the NFTs of the Bridgeworld, which is the flagship project of Treasure.
